Business Development Manager

This is an opportunity for a proven BDM with their finger on the pulse of the transport and logistics world. You will be tasked with selling transport and warehousing solutions to new and existing clients based across the North West. We are looking to speak with proven new Business Development hunters with a strong netwok of clients and with experience of selling warehousing and transport solutions. In this role you will work flexilbly and dynamically to strategically identify and target new business clients as well as account managing everyone that you win. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategically identifying target clients across all sectors
- Focusing on e-commerce and FMCG clients and building relationships with key decision makers
- Using traditional business development methods and techniques to approach clients
- Booking appointments and visiting clients
- Understanding client needs and discussing bespoke solutions
- Quoting for all warehousing and fulfilment requirements
- Managing a pipeline of quotes and activity
- Negotiating rates and costs
- Chasing quotes and closing for new business
- Account managing for repeat business
- Identifying opportunities to cross-sell other transport and general haulage services
- Working to targets and deadlines
Person Specification:
- Previous experience in selling warehousing, storage or fulfilment is desirable
- Experience in the logistics sector in a sales role is preferred
- A track record in a Business Development role is required
- A client network in the FMCG, Import/Export, E-commerce sectors would be advantageous
- Dynamic and proactive individual
