Do you have strong Fanuc programming experience and the ability to programme, set and run jobs from start to finish? Would you enjoy working in a hands-on environment where you can share your knowledge and help develop apprentices and more junior members of the team? If so, I want to hear from you. Our client, a well-established fastener manufacturer based in Telford, is looking to appoint an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer to join their team. The role is primarily focused on CNC turning, although experience with CNC milling would be highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities - Programme, set and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls. - Programme directly at the machine, making adjustments and optimising programmes where required. - Take full responsibility for jobs from enquiry through to complete machine set up and production. - Set tooling, offsets and workholding and ensure machines are correctly prepared for production. - Read and interpret engineering drawings, job specifications and technical documentation. - Carry out first-off and in-process inspections to ensure components meet required specifications. - Make programme and tooling adjustments to optimise quality, efficiency and cycle times. - Work with a range of CNC machinery, including Hitachi and Miyano lathes. - Support wider machining activities where required, including CNC milling. - Share technical knowledge and provide guidance and training to apprentices and junior machinists. - Work closely with colleagues to resolve machining issues and identify opportunities for improvement. - Maintain high standards of quality, Health & Safety and housekeeping.
