Aspion are recruiting for company with a strong presence in Stockton-on-Tees, providing seamless supply chain solutions across the country. Immediate start available for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their dynamic team for a fixed-term contract of 6 months.
Position Overview:
Aspion are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchase Ledger Clerk to support a finance department for a fixed-term period of 6 months. The Purchase Ledger Clerk will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, reconciling supplier statements, and assisting with various accounting tasks within the purchase ledger function.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Processing: Accurately process and record high volumes of purchase invoices, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
Supplier Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile supplier statements to maintain accurate accounting records and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Payment Processing: Assist in preparing payment runs and managing payment schedules to suppliers in a timely manner.
Query Resolution: Investigate and resolve supplier queries professionally and efficiently, maintaining strong relationships with vendors.
Data Maintenance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the purchase ledger, ensuring data integrity at all times.
Assist in Month-End Procedures: Support month-end closing activities, including journal postings and accruals.
Reporting: Generate reports and provide necessary information for management review, contributing to financial reporting processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience (ideally 1-2 years) in a similar role within a finance or accounts payable function.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and reconciling accounts.
- Proficiency in relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
