I’m currently recruiting for a Production Manager to join an award-winning pallet repair company based in Gravesend.
They are seeking a dynamic Production Manager to form an integral part of developing and implementing a new pallet repair plant.

The Candidate:
- Previous experience in pallet repair or woodworking is ideal.
- Production management background and experience of managing a team.
- You must have a can-do attitude andbe willing to have your voice heard.
- Strong leadership and managerial skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills for record-keeping and reporting.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
The Role:
- Production Oversight: Manage the daily operations of the pallet repair facility, including scheduling, production goals, and quality control. Ensure that production targets are met and work is completed within deadlines.
- Quality Control: Implement and maintain timber quality control procedures to ensure that repaired pallets meet industry standards. Regularly inspect pallets to ensure they are safe and compliant with customer requirements.
- Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of 10 pallet repair technicians, inspection technicians and spray technicians, providing guidance, training, and support. Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure productivity and quality.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of pallets in need of repair and ensure that the necessary materials and tools are available for the repair process.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. Promote a culture of safety among the team.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery and tools used in the pallet repair process. Coordinate with maintenance personnel when necessary.
- Budget Management: Monitor and control the budget for the repair facility, including expenses related to labour, materials, and equipment.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on production output, quality control, and operational performance. Provide updates to higher management on key performance metrics.
- Customer Relations: Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction and address any specific pallet repair requirements.
