Job Purpose
Aspion is seeking an experienced Flexographic Printer to join a growing production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating flexographic printing machines, ensuring high-quality print production, and maintaining consistent output. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot issues, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of print quality.
The company also operate very large machines so would be an advantage if the candidate could operate a wide web printing machine up to 1.5 meters.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: The Flexographic Printer will set up and operate flexographic printing machines according to job specifications, ensuring accurate ink settings, plate mounting, and press adjustments.
- Work Sign-On/Off: The role involves accurately signing work on and off at the beginning and end of each shift or job, ensuring proper documentation and tracking of work.
- Print Inspection: The Flexographic Printer will perform regular inspections of print quality, checking for correct colour, registration, and print clarity. It is crucial to ensure that all print jobs meet company quality standards.
- Troubleshooting: The role includes identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the printing process, such as misregistration, colour variations, or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance on the flexographic machines to ensure optimal performance, including cleaning and replacing parts as needed, is a key responsibility.
- Health and Safety Compliance: The Flexographic Printer must adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
- Documentation: The role requires maintaining accurate records of print jobs, machine settings, and quality checks, and reporting any deviations or issues to the production supervisor.
- Team Collaboration: The Flexographic Printer will work closely with other team members, including pre-press and post-press departments, to ensure seamless workflow and timely delivery of products.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience operating flexographic printing machines is essential for this role.
- Technical Skills: The Flexographic Printer should have a strong understanding of flexographic printing processes, including knowledge of inks, substrates, plate mounting, and colour management.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is required, particularly in inspecting print quality and troubleshooting issues.
- Communication: Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to ensure clear documentation and effective teamwork.
- Problem-Solving: The Flexographic Printer must possess strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly identify and rectify printing issues.
- Physical Stamina: The role requires the ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks as required by the job.
- Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of health and safety protocols in a manufacturing environment is essential.
