Located in Luton, our client is a leading and dynamic Freight Forwarding company dedicated to providing innovative logistics solutions to its clients on a multimodal operation for Imports / Exports.
As a Freight Forwarder, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and overseeing the operational aspects of the freight forwarding services. They will work closely with clients, carriers, and team members to ensure the smooth movement of goods from origin to destination.
The Candidate:
- Experience in freight forwarding, with a strong background in Multimodal Freight operations for both import and export.
- Demonstrated expertise in making full customs declarations, understanding customs regulations, and ensuring compliance using CDS / ASM Sequoia software.
- Familiarity with ‘time critical’ logistics and knowledge of associated regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
- Knowledge within the automotive / aerospace sector is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Relevant certifications in freight forwarding and customs compliance will be an asset.
- Proficiency in speaking French would be desirable.
Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations, focusing on import / export movements on a multimodal operation.
- Oversee the efficient movement of various types of cargo including automotive / aerospace, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to stringent quality and regulatory requirements.
- Oversight of full customs declarations, ensuring compliance with all applicable customs regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and international partners to ensure smooth logistics operations.
- Proactively resolve any freight-related issues or delays, minimizing potential disruptions and optimizing supply chain performances.
- Cultivate strong relationships with freight carriers, negotiating contracts, rates, and service level agreements.
- Develop and implement effective freight strategies to optimize cost efficiency while upholding high service standards.
