Are you an experienced Customs Coordinator seeking a new opportunity with a leading forwarder? We have a fantastic ‘brand new’ role available for a skilled professional to join our team. As a Customs Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring smooth and timely customs clearance processes for our import and export shipments.
The Candidate;
- Proven background in customs clearance, either in road or sea freight.
- Experience in making customs declarations since Brexit.
- Customs qualifications are highly desirable.
- Previous involvement in handling import/export customs entries.
- Familiarity with systems such as Destin8, CNS, Chief, CDS, or similar.
- Prior experience in a freight forwarder or logistics company is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage workloads efficiently.
- A proactive problem solver, genuinely passionate about finding solutions for clients.
- Comfortable handling incoming/outgoing calls and providing excellent phone-based customer service.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining confident decision-making.
- Must be adaptable and open to a flexible approach.
Duties and Responsibilities;
- Efficiently manage customs inputting to ensure compliant and timely clearance processes.
- Provide comprehensive customs information to both the team and customers, particularly related to HMRC customs and excise for sea and road operations.
- Advise on the necessary documentation for direct import/export and transit movements.
- Ensure full compliance with HMRC and other relevant bodies, addressing queries promptly.
- Monitor customer volumes and identify any unusual trends, reporting to management.
- Implement all necessary custom clearance processes post-Brexit accurately and promptly.
- Utilize your expertise in customs tariffs, CPC codes, and security declarations to facilitate smooth operations.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to meet clients’ needs effectively.
